Hydrangeas in Mallorca: bouquets and arrangements all year
Hydrangea is the flower that solves volume. A single open head does the work of twenty small flowers, which is why it sits at the heart of our most generous pieces: it holds the shape, leaves room for the roses to stand out and gives that abundant look you can read from the doorway.
Its garden season is summer, but at Caterina we work with it all year round: white, pink, blue or green, depending on what arrives best each week. We build bouquets, arrangements and baskets with it, delivered to the door in Palma and across the island.

Yes. Although its garden season is summer, we work with hydrangea throughout the year. What changes with the season is the colour available and the size of the head, not whether you can order it.
Which colours are available?
Usually white, pink and green; blue comes and goes week to week. If you need a specific colour for a date, write to us before ordering and we will confirm what we have.
How long does a hydrangea last at home?
Five to eight days with the right care. It is the thirstiest flower in the bouquet: change the water every two days and trim a centimetre off the stem each time.
Mine has wilted — can it be saved?
Almost always, and it is the tip our customers thank us for most: submerge the whole head upside down in cold water for twenty minutes. Hydrangea drinks through its petals too and usually recovers.
Can it be used in an arrangement or basket, not just a bouquet?
Yes, and that is where it shines. Built on water-soaked floral foam it arrives finished and needs no vase — very practical for a hospital, an office or a hotel.
White and pink hydrangea bouquets
Hydrangea reads very differently depending on what it is paired with. In white and cream, with garden roses and olive foliage, it makes a restrained bouquet that suits any occasion: that is the Valldemossa Bouquet. In pink and peach the result is far warmer and more festive.

Unlike the peony, with its very short window, we work with hydrangea twelve months a year. If you are after the flower of the moment, look at the rest of our seasonal flowers; if you want something you can order any day of the year, hydrangea is the answer.
