Store it lying down, somewhere cool and dark, away from vibration and direct light. To serve, chill it to 8–10 °C: two or three hours in the lower part of the fridge, or twenty minutes in an ice bucket with water, ice and a handful of salt. Never in the freezer. Open it by holding the cork and turning the bottle, not the other way round, and serve in a tall glass so the bubbles last.
